Deborah was born and raised in Rochester, New York. She was conferred a Bachelor of Science degree by the University of Rochester (Rochester, New York) in 1982. In 1985, she moved to Miami, Florida, to attend the University of Miami School of Law. She was conferred a Juris Doctorate by the University of Miami in May, 1988, passed the Florida Bar exam and became licensed to practice law in September, 1988.


Deborah worked in Miami doing Worker’s Compensation (claimant and defense work) until 1994 when she moved to Satellite Beach and had two sons.  She then served as a mediator for the State of Florida Worker’s Compensation Division and thereafter as a private mediator.  In 2005 Deborah started her own practice. She concentrates on all aspects of family law and bankruptcy (Chapters 7 and 13).  She moved to Merritt Island in 2013.

Our office is located in Cocoa Beach where you can enjoy views of beautiful Cocoa Beach, the Atlantic Ocean, Port Canaveral, and Merritt Island. You will find Deborah easy to talk to, friendly, understanding and caring. The office strives for a family-style atmosphere which coincides with a laid-back Cocoa Beach lifestyle. All cases are approached from a teamwork orientation. Volunteer Work with Brevard County Legal Aid

In 2006, Deborah became involved with the Brevard County Legal Aid organization.  She continues to volunteer a significant amount of her time at the Legal Aid office explaining family law litigation procedures (including how to complete forms) to individuals who do not qualify for representation by a Legal Aid attorney.

Recognition and Awards

In February, 2006, she was named 2005 Pro Bono Attorney of the Year by Brevard County Legal Aid.

In January, 2007, she was awarded the President’s Pro Bono Service Award for the 18th Circuit by the Florida Bar.

She was recognized for Outstanding Pro Bono Service in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 by Brevard County Legal Aid.

She has recognized for Distinguished Pro Bono Service in 2009 and 2011 by Brevard County Legal Aid.

Hobbies and Special Interests

Deborah enjoys boating immensely.  She loves animals and currently has dogs, cats, parrots, chickens and beehives.  She has a special place in her heart for individuals on the autism spectrum, as a member of her family is Asperger’s.  She tries to share her experiences and shares as much information as she can to families which include a special child with special needs.
